Welcome to the Traditional Guesthouse Mazaraki in Mistras Print E-mail


The «Guesthouse Mazaraki» is located in Pikoulianika, the nearest village to the castle of Mistras. This superb location is at a distance of 230km.away from Athens (approximately 2 ½ hours drive) and 4km. away from contemporary Mistras and 9km. away from Sparta .

The guest house overlooks Byzantine Mystras and the valley of the Eyrotas river, in addition to the city of Sparta from the west , whereas in the east, it enjoys wonderful views over the mass of Mount Taygetos and beyond.

It is located at an altitude of 600m., in a wooded area with an abundance of mountain springs and streams.

It consists of three independent buildings, totally affiliated to the environment with the least possible interventions to the natural beauty of the area.
The buildings were designed by the architect Georgios Giaxoglou, whereas the interior (offering individual themes such as the wheat, the olive, the sky, the branches, the pomegranate and the flowers ) was developed by the scenographer Eleni Manolopoulou.

There are 3 studios of 45 sq.mtrs. and 3 suites of 60 sq.mtrs offering independent bedrooms, a living room lounge with kitchen, fireplace and sizable verandas, suitable for 2-5 people.

There is also a 120sq.m two storey residence, catering for 7-9 people with 4 bathrooms, 2 kitchens and 2 fireplaces available upon request.
